Typha
We recently completed a project for artist Dean Baldwin and installed it at the corner of Leslie and Lakeshore Blvd just around the corner from our friends at Dark Tools. Typha is the name of the project. It is located right at the start of the Leslie Spit. The Leslie Spit is know as an area where construction scrap was dumped many years ago. People have made little monuments on the Spit out of some of the scrap. Dean was inspired by this and created Typha. We fabricated this 35 foot tall sculpture in our shop using new weathering steel and reclaimed railroad rails. Mikey, James and Nick installed this wonderful sculpture. Special thanks to Amherst cranes for their continued support.
