THE BIG GUITAR FIRE PIT
We are taking orders on this new fire pit and should be ready to start shipping in 4 to 5 weeks. Guitar is made using 10 ga. weathering steel (CorTen). You can find others on the market but the material thickness is half the thickness of these babies. These are made to last. Shown in pictures is raw steel with mill scale still on it. This unit will start to oxidize and go thru a range of colours as it ages. Opening is 17 5/8” x 9 3/8” so it will take 16” logs. | Belly is 13 ¾” deep
CorTen Explained
CorTen steel or weathering steel is a corrosion-resistant material. When left uncoated, it forms a protective layer (patina) on the outer surface that protects this steel material from corrosion. You will enjoy several years of colour change with your Tree Art. Black scale will eventually fade to different colours of patina. Final patina will be a deep bronze/brown. This process will take 5 to 8 years depending on environmental conditions.
